World Champ Rates Aussie F1 Hulls 'One of the Best'

During his 2005 visit to Australia , American F1 powerboat driver Scott Gillman took the opportunity to join in on a hard charging test session with Bob Trask and his Brisbane built GTR Formula 1 hull.

After stepping out of the cockpit, Gilmman rated the GTR hull as one of the very best that he had ever driven.

Each GTR race boat is built entirely in the race facility which features specialised composite lamination rooms, engine building room and electronics department.

"We are totally self sufficient in that we build or supply virtually everything in-house from the prop nut all the way through to the steering wheel," Bob Trask said.

GTR is set to build two new boats for brothers Bob and David Trask to run on the 2006 world F1 circuit.

"There are some minor modifications to be made to the existing design, but I am feeling very, very confident that we will be right up at the front of the pack in 2006 when we represent Australia and compete on the World F1 circuit."
